Abstract

While advances in technique and outcomes of adipose tissue grafting have been achieved in the recent years, there has been a lack of concrete basic understanding of the regenerative potential of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) in vivo and the factors affecting such potential, consequently resulting in a lack of unified protocols of the procedure. Here we discuss the major factors at play for ADSCs regeneration while highlighting gaps in the literature and recommendations for future investigation. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.
