Abstract

Different benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine derivatives were synthesized in high yields and purity with short reaction times by the reaction of 2-aminobenzimidazole, aldehydes and active carbonyl compounds in the presence of Silica sulfuric acid/ethylene glycol (SSA/EG) as a catalyst. Cytotoxicity of the synthesized benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine derivatives 1-6 was carried out against the two human cancer cell lines, hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) and breast carcinoma (MCF-7) as well as Vero cells (normal cells). ©2019 National Information and Documentation Center (NIDOC)
